Lee Rixon and Carol Green recently bought a franchise from online business directory and guide CityLocal.

Lee had previously worked in construction and now operates his internet marketing franchise full-time. The response has been so good that Carol, who still works for a heating oil company, is also looking to commit herself full-time to the business, which covers the Breckland area in Norfolk. 

Lee Rixon is enthusiastic about the company, founded by Zakir and Nazir Daud, as are his customers it seems.

FS Blog: So, how helpful have CityLocal been in setting you up?

Lee Rixon: Zak was extremely helpful and very professional in helping us assess the internet franchise from the first point of contact. When we did take the franchise and go for our training, Nazir was excellent in training us on the CityLocal business system.

The overall training was excellent and very informative. Back home, the training videos that accompany the three days training are a great way to refer back to what we were taught during our three days in Leicester.

FS Blog: And what’s the reception from prospective customers so far?

Lee: We have had a very good response from local businesses and they love our method of local business promotion. The support has been exemplary and there is always somebody available on the end of the phone.

We are now organising our first business networking event on 21 August which has already generated a lot of interest. We are expecting our first event to have between 25 and 30 local business owners attending, and this has raised our profile within the local business community.

Recently we have been promoting new clients on our site and they are showing on the first page of Google within a few days. Needless to say, they are very impressed! 

We attend our local BNI, which as now chosen to promote itself on CityLocal, and they’ve also given us a great testimonial.

FS Blog: Wow, so the marketing is going really well then...

Lee: We are on a high as we are on a big marketing campaign and we are already getting great visibility locally. The marketing material is brilliant and local businesses respond really well.

The walking man in our logo has been commented on quite a lot and received really well.

FS Blog: And how’s the partnership going with Carol?

Lee: She’s helping me part-time and is loving it, so she wants to come on full time. 

FS Blog: So overall, no complaints?

Lee: I’m looking forward to a long-term future with CityLocal and I will continue building our business. We are over the moon with Citylocal as this has put us on a new career path.
