Pet Franchise: Animal Lover Realises Dream

New OSCAR pet franchise owner Sally Callaghan discusses how she realised a 30-year dream.

Bedfordshire-based Sally has always wanted to work for herself and with animals, she tells FS Blog.

FS Blog: What did you do before your bought your franchise?

Sally Callaghan: I had a varied working career, I’ve been a security analyst, network telephone analyst, business manager and purser on a Miami cruise ship. But now I feel sure after 30 years I’ve at long last found my dream vocation of working for myself and with animals.

FS Blog: How did you come across this franchise?

Sally: After taking voluntary redundancy I was drawn to the BusinessesForSale website where I found OSCAR, and the support team gave me the confidence to make a decision.

Sally: I took my time to research and after several telephone conversations, a discovery meeting and a day with a franchisee, I soon realised I was safe in their hands.

FS Blog: What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?

Sally: My message to anyone considering an OSCAR franchise would be to go for it – it gives you freedom. You also have continued support and training to run your own business, and you never feel alone when you’re working from home.
