Career Change; Buying a Pet Franchise

OSCAR franchiseeDavid Graham spent 33 years of his working career in the steel industry, an industry that was constantly changing, enough to convince David it was time to move on and buy an OSCAR pet franchise.

David says, “I had reached the end of the road in a job that I had started from leaving school. There were changes in responsibilities throughout that time but circumstances within the company encouraged me to reconsider my future. I’d dreamt of running my own business but lack of knowledge restricted my decision.

“Investigating my options I soon discovered that franchising provided a very strong message of guidance and support - inspiring my confidence to go one step further. OSCAR came to me through the media, followed by a visit to a franchise show and the rest fell into place.

“Animals were an instant attraction because as a pet owner I already knew that pet lovers all have the same common denominator. Walking my dogs, Bess and Molly, always encourages conversation with likeminded people and for that reason I could see the potential of an OSCAR business – because we all care!

“Approaching OSCAR and following the system has been perfect and I can’t fault the journey that I have taken to set up my own business. The flexibility of working from home, in an area that I know so well, offers exciting prospects.

“Joining OSCAR reassures me that I will be a successful franchisee, self-sufficient with a good standard of living which means that there will be time for hobbies and a happy, positive future – perhaps for the next 33 years?”
