Grocery Franchisee Buys Liverpool Location

Riverford Organic franchiseeNorthern-based Riverford Organic franchisee, Alan McInnes, started his business in Warrington and Widnes just two years ago.

Since then, he has acquired the Liverpool territory – a move that has taken his turnover from an initial £700 a week to more than £300,000 a year.

Alan says, “Things are going well, and picking up after a particularly tough winter when you couldn’t get a cauliflower at Christmas for love nor money – they don’t like the frost! But there’s been what I’m calling the Easter bounce. Since then, business is flourishing.”

Former Food Retailer Buys Lawn Care Franchise

Gary Pearce, Lawnscience franchiseeGary Pearce decided to quit his senior manager position in the food retail industry, to buy a Lawnscience franchise.

Gary was looking for a career change and a new challenge so he decided to leave the corporate environment and started researching business opportunities. He started his lawn care franchise in March 2010.

Gary says, “My search started on the internet and I was immediately drawn to franchising. The idea of being able to run my own business using a proven successful business model was very appealing and was a comparatively low risk option.”

Government Supports Green Franchises

Green globe, green franchiseUp to one million new green-collar jobs will be created as the Government supports the green economy, which is good news for property franchise Green Assess.

The coalition government promised a raft of green initiatives in the Queen's speech that will see a radical overhaul of the country's housing stock and loans, to allow more households to invest in measures such as solar panels.

Promising a new energy bill in the next parliament, the new government, led by David Cameron, wants to create a green investment bank that would loan individual households the money to invest in carbon-reducing measures, including insulation.

Green Franchise Adds New Training Locations

This is so the green franchise can facilitate training delivery for the required network of Green Property Surveyors across England and Wales. Successful prospective applicants can now choose from a number of venues across the country including Watford, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Leeds and Cardiff.
