Having worked for Natwest bank for 27 years, Chris Whent was ready for a change.

His wife, Jane, left behind a career in payroll to join Chris in running a Murcia Villas overseas property franchise in La Torre golf resort, in the Murcia region of Spain.

Chris and Jane plan to run the business for at least five years before selling it for a healthy profit.

Starting a business offers many advantages, but improving work-life balance is not usually among them.

However, Chris has led a low-stress existence since buying a Murcia Villas franchise.
